  • Treatment of oxalis on Vallemar Bluff, north of Fitzgerald Marine Reserve, will occur sometime between Monday, February 3 and Friday, February 28. The work is expected to last one day, as weather and the availability of work crews allows, and will occur on a weekday. During the work, the Vallemar Bluff area and trail will be closed.

Treatment goals include the protection of native habitat from the invasive plant, Oxalis pes-caprae, which spreads quickly and outcompetes native plants. This work will involve targeted foliar application of the herbicide imazamox or triclopyr directly to foliage of the plants. The area will reopen once the application process, including drying, is complete.
